News Update – June 10

Hey, my kinky, polyam peeps! Happy Pride Month! While I’m only an ally, as so many of my friends and chosen family are queer, I love the opportunity to help them celebrate who they are. This Saturday I’ll be at York Pride giving out free swag at the Central Pa Area Polyamory booth, so make sure to stop by and say “Hi!”

Without further adieu, on to this week’s news articles:

First, from AskMen comes a discussion about Rrlationship Anarchy (RA). I’m not RA myself , so let me say I’m not an expert on the topic, but fortunately I’ve been able to avail myself to people who are. One thing I’ve learned from speaking with the RA community is that, like Polyamory, it’s somewhat of a loose definition and not everyone agrees on what it means, so please don’t take this article as the final word. If you’re interested in learning more, reach out to your local RA group, or contact the Relationship Anarchy Group on Facebook.

“‘With RA, you don’t need to distinguish between partner and non-partner,’ explains Dr. Jess O’Reilly, Astroglide’s resident sexologist. ‘Relationship anarchy suggests that it’s the quality of a relationship that matters — does it align with your core needs and values? Is it a fit for you or are you simply embracing it because you’ve been told you ought to do so?'”

Second, from TheBody.com comes a discussion about Polyamory styles, specifically Kitchen Table and Garden Party. I let my partners decide the level of interaction my metas and I have, which has led to Garden Party by default. It’s something that I feel suits me quite well because, as an introvert, it lets me keep a good portion of “hamster ball time” in my schedule.

“When it comes to finding the kind of configuration that works for you and your partners, you need to consider each other’s boundaries. The way to know which kind of polyam is right for you takes open and honest communication about how you want to live and love as a polyamorous person.”

That’s it for this week. I PROMISE I’m gonna get some new TikTok and YouTube content loaded soon, so stay tuned!

Until next time, stay kinky, my friends…
