Hey, my Kinky, Polyam peeps! Happy Pride Month!!! To all who celebrate, this ally wants you to know that I see you, I love you, and who you are is valid. I know the political climate feels like it has taken a turn for the worse, particularly for our transgender siblings, and as long as we fight, our voices will continue to be heard. Progress has always been messy, uncomfortable, even down right painful, and we will overcome.
While, I chide Panda for buying yet another bi-pride dress to accompany the eight sitting in her closet that have yet to see the light of day, let’s move on to this weeks news.
First, from Hauterrfly comes five tips on how to introduce your kinks to your partners. I know we’ve posted about this before, and it never hurts to have a refresher. Sometimes the burden of education is just repeating the same old material to new audiences, but this is why I’m here!
“Discussing kinks with your partner can be a tad bit tough especially with all the kink shaming and the taboo around the idea of getting dirty in the sheets. But don’t let social norms hold you back from talking about your kinks and introducing your partner to it.”

Second, from Refinery 29 comes a conversation about the difference between Polyamory and Open Relationships . If you’ve seen my TikTok, you’ll know this is a hot-button topic for me. There’s nothing wrong with whatever part of the ENM spectrum that you identify with, however problems with communication arise if we don’t set clear expectations for what kind of relationships we are looking for, and includes using the proper terminology.
“It may seem all a bit nit-picky and confusing, but the differences between these two terms is important to understand. Words not only have power in creating and finding community, but they also help keep communication healthy and honest in your relationships.”

That’s all for this week. Stay tuned for our next kink article which will be on… something I haven’t figured out yet, but such is writing.
Until next time, stay kinky, my friends…
